BEIJING: Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, who is on a four-day official visit to China, held talks with Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on Tuesday.
According to the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, the meeting focused on various dimensions of Nepal-China relations and ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The two sides exchanged views on development cooperation, trade, investment, tourism, political exchanges and people-to-people relations.
During the meeting, Minister Khanal praised Wang’s strong commitment to deepening and advancing the long-standing friendly ties between Nepal and China.
He also expressed confidence that the traditional friendship and mutual cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
As part of his official engagements in Beijing, Minister Khanal is scheduled to visit the White Pagoda later on Tuesday and give interviews to Chinese media outlets as well as Reuters.
He will also participate in an investment conference being organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing later in the day.
Minister Khanal arrived in Beijing on Sunday at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister and Political Bureau member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wang Yi.
The two foreign ministers held delegation-level talks on Monday, focusing on bilateral relations and cooperation.
Khanal is scheduled to conclude his visit and return to Nepal on Wednesday.
