KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has warned against the misuse of the Prime Minister’s name, the office’s logo and official identity to create threats, influence or pressure.
Issuing a statement on Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Office said serious attention had been drawn to activities carried out through social media and other channels using the name of the Prime Minister or the office to exert undue influence, threaten individuals and spread confusion.
The office urged those involved in such activities to immediately stop misusing official names and symbols.
The statement also said it was condemnable to create fear and intimidation against civil servants performing their duties in accordance with the law and established administrative procedures.
According to the office, attempts to insult public officials and spread misleading information against them violate the dignity of public service.
The PMO further warned that anyone found involved in such activities would face strict action in accordance with prevailing laws.
