Construction of underpass underway along Suryabinayak–Dhulikhel road section

KATHMANDU: Construction work is progressing rapidly along the Suryabinayak–Dhulikhel Road section, which has been undergoing an upgrade to a six-lane road for nearly three years.

The road section currently operates as a two-lane roadway. As part of the expansion project, an underpass is being constructed at the Sanga uphill stretch.

According to the project, the total length of the underpass will be 1,110 meters. This includes a 190-meter approach road on the Banepa side and a 900-meter approach road on the Bhaktapur side.

The underpass will have a height of six meters and a width of 10.5 meters. In addition, a 20-meter bridge will also be constructed within the underpass structure.
