TEL AVIV: Israel has said it still has “thousands” of potential targets in Iran, indicating that its military operations could continue.
Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said the targets remain even after Israel expanded its strikes to areas in western and central Iran, BBC reported.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran has not requested a ceasefire from the United States. In an interview with CBS News, he stated that Tehran currently sees no reason to resume talks with Washington, noting that negotiations had been underway when the attacks began.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said Iran had expressed interest in reaching a deal, but he believed the proposed terms were “not good enough.”
Trump also held a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during which they discussed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz to restore normal global shipping.
In a separate interview with the Financial Times, Trump warned that failure by allies to assist the US in reopening the strategic waterway could be “very bad for the future of NATO.”
