Ballot papers and election materials dispatched to constituencies in Sudurpashchim



SUDURPASHCHIM: Ballot papers and other election materials for the upcoming House of Representatives election have arrived in Kailali district.

Chief of the Provincial Election Office, Kailali, Prem Raj Bhatta, said that ballot papers under both the proportional representation system and the first-past-the-post (direct) system for all five constituencies in the district have been delivered.

“We are working intensively to ensure that ballot papers and related materials reach all constituencies by Tuesday,” he said.

Kailali has a total of 551,052 voters—108,491 in Constituency-1, 107,757 in Constituency-2, 109,122 in Constituency-3, 115,143 in Constituency-4, and 110,539 in Constituency-5.

A total of 51 types of election materials are required for the polls. Of these, 37 types are being supplied by the Provincial Election Office, while the remaining 14 types are being provided by the central level. Training for polling officers will begin from Falgun 6.

As part of election preparations, voter education programs have been launched across all wards in Sudurpashchim Province from Monday, with 734 voter education volunteers mobilized. The volunteers have started providing voter education through school-based programs as well as door-to-door outreach. The voter education campaign will continue until Falgun 17.

In Sudurpashchim Province, which has 16 constituencies under the House of Representatives, a total of 206 candidates, including those from political parties and independent contenders, are in the race.
