Kathmandu’s minimum temperature falls for second consecutive day



KATHMANDU: The minimum temperature in Kathmandu has declined for the second straight day, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

Data provided at 5:45 am today shows the capital’s minimum temperature at 8.1 degrees Celsius. At the same time yesterday (Sunday), the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius. However, during the final measurement taken at 8:45 am, it dropped slightly to 8.0 degrees Celsius.

The official minimum temperature is determined based on the 8:45 am reading. Meteorologists indicate that today’s official figure may decline slightly from the 5:45 am measurement.

Earlier, on Saturday, the minimum temperature was initially recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am and later dropped to 8.9 degrees Celsius at the official 8:45 am measurement.

The Division records Kathmandu’s minimum temperature twice each morning, first at 5:45 am and finally at 8:45 am, with the latter considered official. The maximum temperature is recorded at 5:45 pm daily.

The Division regularly measures minimum and maximum temperatures across various locations in the country, including the Kathmandu Valley.
