NC leader Min Bishwakarma claims no special convention held

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Min Bishwakarma has stated that the party has not conducted any special convention.

Speaking to reporters on Friday after leaders from Sher Bahadur Deuba’s faction submitted documents at the Election Commission claiming their faction’s legitimacy, Bishwakarma said, “No convention or special convention has taken place. Our Central Working Committee unanimously decided on the central convention for May 12, 13 and 14.”

He also claimed that all competing leaders from the party’s 14th convention, including the then-elected president, and the majority of the Central Committee members remain under Deuba’s leadership.

Bishwakarma criticized attempts by former party leaders to create confusion by claiming that the Central Working Committee had been updated or changed, asserting that over 135 members of the committee collectively supported the decisions made during the 14th convention.
