KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting of top political leaders has been scheduled for Wednesday at the call of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane.
According to RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel, the meeting will be held at 11 am at the RSP parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.
The meeting will discuss the formation of a high-level political mechanism for disaster risk reduction and management.
On Tuesday, lawmakers from the CPN-UML and Nepali Communist Party questioned why an all-party mechanism had not been formed as proposed by Lamichhane.
Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting, UML Deputy Parliamentary Party Leader Padma Aryal and Nepali Communist Party lawmaker Prem Kumar Hamal raised questions over the issue.
The meeting has been called for Wednesday after opposition lawmakers also raised concerns over the failure to form the proposed mechanism.
