KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has fixed nomination registration fees for candidates contesting positions from the ward level to the central level in its upcoming 15th General Convention.
According to Schedule 21 of the party’s “15th General Convention Election Directive, 2083,” candidates contesting various posts and membership positions will have to pay between Rs 500 and Rs 40,000 as nomination fees.
The highest fee has been set at Rs 40,000 for the post of central president, while the lowest fee of Rs 500 has been fixed for ward members and regional representatives.
The prescribed fee must be submitted to the concerned election officer along with the nomination form by the candidate or their authorised representative.
The fee will not be refunded even if a candidate withdraws their candidacy or regardless of the outcome of the election, in line with the practice followed in Congress elections.
The nomination fees fixed for different positions are as follows:
Central Working Committee
- Central president: Rs 40,000
- Central vice-president and general secretary: Rs 30,000
- Central joint general secretary: Rs 20,000
- Central member: Rs 11,000
Provincial Working Committee
- Provincial president: Rs 20,000
- Vice-president and general secretary: Rs 15,000
- Joint general secretary: Rs 10,000
- Provincial member: Rs 5,000
District Working Committee
- District president: Rs 15,000
- Vice-president and secretary: Rs 7,000
- Joint secretary: Rs 6,000
- District member: Rs 3,000
House of Representatives Constituency Working Committee
- Constituency president: Rs 10,000
- Vice-president and secretary: Rs 5,000
- Joint secretary: Rs 4,000
- Constituency member: Rs 2,000
- Central general convention representative: Rs 7,000
- Central Mahasamiti member: Rs 5,000
Provincial Assembly Constituency Working Committee
- President: Rs 7,000
- Vice-president and secretary: Rs 4,000
- Joint secretary: Rs 3,000
- Member: Rs 2,000
