POKHARA: Broadcasting organisations in Gandaki Province can now register and renew their licenses online following the launch of a new service by the Press Registrar’s Office, Gandaki.
The office provided renewal certificates on Friday to radio and television stations that had completed the renewal process online, marking the first time such certificates were issued through the provincial system.
Press Registrar Bimala Bhandari said broadcasting organisations operating within Gandaki Province will no longer need to travel to Kathmandu to renew their licenses.
According to Bhandari, the online system will save time and costs for radio and television stations while also reducing administrative hassles involved in registration and renewal.
She said the office has also requested the federal government to make policy-level arrangements allowing online media outlets to register and renew their licenses through provincial offices.
The move is expected to make media registration and renewal services more accessible to broadcasting organisations operating in Gandaki Province.
