Foreign Minister Khanal meets Chinese official Liu Haixing in Beijing, discusses strengthening ties



KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal held talks with Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in Beijing on Monday.

Khanal shared the meeting on Facebook, stating that discussions focused on strengthening Nepal–China relations, expanding party-to-party exchanges, and deepening people-to-people ties.

During his ongoing visit to China, the foreign minister is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, focusing on further strengthening Nepal–China relations and enhancing mutual cooperation.

He is also expected to meet other senior Chinese officials during his stay in Beijing.

According to officials, Khanal will participate in an investment conference organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing aimed at attracting foreign investment to Nepal and will also hold discussions with Chinese entrepreneurs and business leaders.

The minister is also expected to discuss the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) during his visit. He is scheduled to return home on Asar 3.
