Umesh Shrestha appointed treasurer of Nepali Congress



KATHMANDU: Umesh Shrestha has been appointed treasurer of the Nepali Congress.

On Friday, Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa nominated Shrestha to the post. Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal said the appointment was made in accordance with Article 21 (4) of the Nepali Congress Statute, 2017 (as amended).

Shrestha had previously also served as the party’s treasurer. Following the party’s 14th General Convention, former President Sher Bahadur Deuba had appointed him to the same position.
