ANFA suspension lifted after talks with Sports Ministry officials

KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council (NSC) has lifted the suspension imposed on the leadership of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

The decision to revoke the suspension was reached after ANFA officials, including the general secretary, held discussions on Friday with Minister for Education, Science and Sports Sasmit Pokharel and other stakeholders.

Earlier, the NSC had suspended ANFA’s leadership on March 25, citing repeated non-compliance with directives issued by the council.

The suspension was imposed under Section 29 (2) of the National Sports Development Act, after ANFA allegedly failed to implement instructions issued by the governing body on multiple occasions.

Following recent negotiations, both sides agreed to lift the suspension, allowing ANFA leadership to resume its regular functions.
