KMC fines Durbar Marg shop owner Rs 25,000 for cleaning dust on pavement



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has fined a shop owner in Durbar Marg for dusting a mat onto a granite-paved sidewalk.

The action was taken after a photo of the incident went viral on social media on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police Force, shop owner Pankaj Kumar was fined Rs 25,000 for dumping dust from a mat onto the street pavement.

The municipality said the act violated cleanliness and public space regulations, prompting immediate enforcement action.
