Govt reopens labour approval for four countries including Israel

KATHMANDU: The government has reopened labour approvals for four countries, including Israel, following a ministerial decision.

A decision taken by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security on April 13 has allowed the resumption of labour approvals for Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, and Lebanon.

Labour approvals to these destinations, along with other West Asian and Gulf countries, had earlier been suspended due to rising tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran.

The suspension was imposed as a precautionary measure after Iran targeted a US military base, raising security concerns across the region.

With the latest decision, the government has lifted the temporary restriction, allowing Nepali workers to resume foreign employment in the specified countries.
