Gandaki Province Cabinet reshuffled, new ministers sworn in



KATHMANDU: The Gandaki Province government has undergone a Cabinet reshuffle, with new ministers appointed and portfolios reassigned on Wednesday.

The reshuffle was carried out on the recommendation of Chief Minister Surendra Pandey, following which newly appointed ministers have already taken the oath of office and secrecy.

With the reconstitution, responsibilities across ministries have also been reallocated, with several ministers receiving new portfolios.

Leaders from both CPN-UML and Nepali Congress have been inducted into the Cabinet as part of the reshuffle.

From CPN-UML, Govinda Bahadur Nepali has been appointed Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management. Similarly, Yashoda Rimal has been assigned the Industry and Tourism Ministry.

Laxman Pandey has been appointed Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, while Bhim Karki has taken charge as Minister for Health.

From the Nepali Congress, Jeet Sherchan has been appointed Minister for Finance. Nanda Prasad Neupane has been assigned the Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water Ministry.

Namdu Gurung has been appointed Minister for Social Development, Youth and Sports, while Rekha Gurung has taken charge of the Forest and Environment Ministry.

Prior to the reshuffle, the Agriculture Ministry was led by Padma GC, Health by Krishna Pathak, Physical Infrastructure by Prakash KC, and Industry and Tourism by Mitralal Basyal.

Similarly, the Finance Ministry was headed by Dr. Takaraj Gurung, Social Development by Bindukumar Thapa, and Forest and Environment by Bhesh Bahadur Paudel. The Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water portfolio had been retained by Chief Minister Pandey himself.

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed ministers was held Wednesday afternoon at the Nepal Tourism Board office.
