Engineer shot dead in Sarlahi



KATHMANDU: An engineer working at the Infrastructure Development Office in Sarlahi was shot dead in Malangwa on Sunday evening.

According to police, Pramod Kumar Yadav was shot by an unidentified group at around 8:00 pm. He was originally from Sukhipur Municipality–3, Siraha, and had been living in rented accommodation in Malangwa for the past year.

Family members said he had received a phone call from an unidentified person asking him to come outside his residence. He was shot shortly after stepping out of the house.

Yadav, who sustained a gunshot injury, was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa, where doctors pronounced him dead during treatment.

Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
