Man dies after scooter hits pedestrian in Gaindakot



NAWALPUR: A pedestrian died after being struck by a scooter in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Sustapur).

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Lakhan Tamang of Gaindakot Municipality-8. He was hit by a scooter bearing registration number Province 3-02-014 Pa 1443 on Sangam Marg last night.

According to police, Tamang, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, died while undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

Anil Pandit, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Sustapur), said that Prabin Thapa Magar, 26, of Karanghari, Gaindakot-8, the scooter rider involved in the incident, has been taken into custody. Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
