NC’s Deuba faction holding national gathering today



KATHMANDU: The Sher Bahadur Deuba-led faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) is organising a national gathering in Kathmandu today. Deuba is scheduled to address the event, which will be held at Miracle Party Palace in Sukedhara at 11:30 am.

Deuba, who had been abroad for five months for medical treatment, returned to Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon. He received a grand welcome from Congress leaders and workers.

According to Min Bishwakarma, coordinator of the publicity committee of the Congress other groups, the closed session of the gathering will be held on August 15 and 16.

Leaders said new policies and programmes would be decided during the closed session, which will include discussions on various thematic issues. The organisers have estimated that around 5,000 leaders and cadres will participate in the gathering.
