CHITWAN: Traffic movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section has resumed after landslides at 15 different locations were cleared.
The landslides began falling from around 7 pm on Monday evening due to continuous rainfall and continued until morning. According to Arjun Ghimire, an engineer at the Division Road Office, Bharatpur, the road was reopened for two-way traffic after clearing all landslide debris from the affected areas.
Two loaders and other equipment were deployed overnight to remove the debris from the road.
According to Engineer Ghimire, landslides had blocked the road at Bheteri, Khorkhola, 15 Kilo, 11 Kilo, 16 Kilo, 19 Kilo, two locations at Setidobhan, Ghumaune, two locations at Simaltal, 25 Kilo, Jalbire, Namsi Khola, and Tui Khola.
Among these locations, Setidobhan was completely blocked in both directions, while traffic movement was partially obstructed at other points.
Although the debris had been cleared by 1 am to resume vehicle movement, authorities waited until morning due to the risk of further landslides at some locations.
The local administration has urged travelers to avoid nighttime travel along the road section as landslides can occur at any time.
