RSP lawmaker Singh calls for unity among parties to save democracy and constitution

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh has said the country is facing a crisis and urged all political parties to unite to protect democracy and the constitution.

Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, Singh said the current situation should not be ignored and warned that if public trust in democracy and the state weakens, all political parties could face consequences.

“Today, our state is in crisis. We should not create a narrative from Parliament that deepens the crisis. If the people and democracy are destroyed, none of us will have a place,” Singh said.

He said the country is facing challenges, with growing frustration among citizens, business communities, youths, and students.

Singh urged lawmakers not to spread despair from Parliament and called for all parties represented in the House to come together to identify common national issues.

“Let us not spread this frustration; let us find solutions. I would like to request the Speaker to bring all parties present in Parliament together, identify national issues, and tell the people that only through collective efforts can the nation, constitution, and democracy survive,” he said.
