Cloudy conditions with rain expected in several provinces today



KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly winds and a low-pressure system in the lower atmosphere near the eastern part of the country.

At present, the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, as well as Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, are generally cloudy, while the hilly and mountainous areas of the remaining provinces are partly cloudy.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, some places in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province and a few places in the Terai of Bagmati Province are experiencing moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The Division said that this afternoon the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province, as well as in Sudurpaschim Province, while the remaining areas will see partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, including the Terai of Koshi Province.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy in the hilly regions of the country and partly cloudy elsewhere. The Department has forecast the possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the mountainous regions and at one or two places in the hilly areas.
