One worker dies after landslide buries laborers in Myagdi District



MYAGDI: A worker has died after being buried by a mound of soil in Mangala Rural Municipality–2, Salyan of Myagdi district on Saturday.

According to the District Police Office, 28-year-old Sat Budhamagar of Sunachhari Rural Municipality–2 in Rolpa died after being buried while installing a gabion wall along the Babiyachaur–Salyan road section.

Police Inspector Sagar Timilsina said Budhamagar passed away while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Beni.

Two other workers—Tekbir Budhamagar and Keshman Budhamagar, also from Sunachhari–2, Rolpa—were rescued from the debris and taken to the Provincial Hospital, Beni for treatment.

Inspector Timilsina said both injured workers were discharged after treatment, while the body of the deceased has been kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
The incident occurred at around 1:00 pm when a sudden landslide struck the workers during construction work.
