KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) (CPN-UML) has presented 30 reasons why voters should cast their ballots for party chair KP Sharma Oli in Jhapa-5.
In an appeal made public by the UML’s Jhapa-5 regional committee, the party has highlighted issues ranging from the protection of national sovereignty to the adjustment of teacher quotas.
Issued under the title “Why vote for KP Sharma Oli?”, the appeal states that Oli should be elected to help restore what it describes as rights taken away from the people.
The UML has also urged voters to support Oli to expand technical education for youth, promote skill-based development, and create self-employment opportunities. The party claims that electing Oli would help revitalize the sluggish economy and boost the agricultural sector to achieve food self-sufficiency.
“The construction of the Nepal-China Friendship Industrial Park must be completed by electing Oli from this constituency,” the appeal states. It further calls for votes to modernize Damak, Gauradaha, and Gauriganj markets and develop them into smart cities.
