CPN-UML to launch election campaign in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The UML is set to kick off its election campaign from Kathmandu ahead of the upcoming parliamentary polls.

Mahesh Basnet, party secretary and Bagmati Province in-charge, said the Bagmati Province Committee will begin a special election campaign in Kathmandu on January 18, including public demonstrations.

Dr Rajan Bhattarai, party secretary and in-charge of the Capital Special Committee, said the committee will be officially announced, and the election campaign will begin in Kathmandu on January 16, in line with the party’s amended statute.

The CPN-UML Central Committee, in its meeting on Poush 26, had decided to launch a nationwide campaign for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
