Two killed, nine injured in jeep accident in Rukum West



SURKHET: Two people were killed and nine others injured after a jeep met with an accident at Deutakhola in Sanibheri Rural Municipality-6, Rukum West, on Sunday.

According to police, the jeep (Lu 1 Cha 6029) was travelling from Kotgaun towards Khalanga via Simli, the administrative centre of Sanibheri Rural Municipality, when the accident occurred.

Ward Chairman of Sanibheri-6 Pahal Singh Gharti said the jeep driver and a woman passenger died at the scene. Their identities have not yet been established.

There were 11 people aboard the jeep at the time of the accident. Of the nine injured, four are in serious condition, while the condition of the remaining five is reported to be moderate, said District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Bahadur Poudel. Police are conducting further investigation into the cause of the accident.
