Five landless families in Jhapa receive land ownership certificates

JHAPA: The Land Problem Resolution Commission has distributed land ownership certificates to five landless squatters’ families in Jhapa.

According to Commission Chairperson Balbhadra Bastola, the certificates were handed over to landless households from Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-4 of Jhapa.

The government had launched a nationwide land ownership certificate distribution campaign on June 18 from Bardiya, where 29 landless Dalit and squatter families in Bardiya’s Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-4 received land ownership certificates.

The government said the campaign aims to address the long-standing problems of landless citizens and unorganized settlers by legally providing land ownership to genuine landless families across the country.
