House meeting resumes for third time amid opposition obstruction

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has resumed for the third time after being adjourned twice earlier on Wednesday amid continued obstruction by opposition parties.

Soon after the meeting began, opposition lawmakers again disrupted proceedings, creating a tense atmosphere in the House.

Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has been consulting Parliament Secretariat officials in an effort to ensure the smooth operation of the session.

The House has been unable to proceed due to repeated obstruction by opposition parties, which have demanded the presence of Prime Minister Balen Shah during discussions on the government’s policies and programs.

Despite repeated appeals from the Speaker not to obstruct the proceedings, opposition lawmakers have continued their protest, insisting that the Prime Minister appear in the House and respond to queries on the policy and program document.
