KATHMANDU: Dr. Chiranjibi Prasad Pokharel has been appointed as the Member-Secretary of the National Trust for Nature Conservation.
Minister for Forests and Environment and Chairperson of the Trust, Gita Chaudhary, appointed Dr. Pokharel effective from May 12 until further notice.
Dr. Pokharel is currently serving as a senior director at the Trust and is widely recognized as a wildlife biologist, conservation planner, and tiger expert. He brings more than 27 years of professional experience in the field of nature conservation.
Following his appointment, Dr. Pokharel expressed commitment to the objectives, vision, and core values of the institution, pledging to further strengthen its work in biodiversity and environmental conservation.
He said he would work to advance the organization towards greater achievements in the field of nature protection and sustainable conservation efforts.
