Supporters gather at airport gate to welcome former King Gyanendra

KATHMANDU: Supporters of former King Gyanendra Shah have gathered at the gate of Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome him upon his return from Jhapa.

Royalist supporters, led by Durga Prasai, reached the airport premises despite the local administration imposing a prohibitory order in the surrounding area and tightening security arrangements.

A large number of police personnel had been deployed in and around the airport since early morning to maintain law and order.

Former King Gyanendra is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu today from Jhapa.
