NC leader Deepak Khadka warns of possible expulsion for Thapa, Sharma



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Deepak Khadka has warned that party leaders Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, who are leading the special convention faction, could face expulsion if their actions continue.

Speaking ahead of a central committee meeting at the party’s headquarters, Khadka said disciplinary action could be taken against leaders pushing the special convention agenda.

“On one side, the nomination process has begun, and on the other, the central committee meeting is underway. All district presidents are convening pressure-building programs,” Khadka said.

He also noted that a signature collection campaign is ongoing at the Saneppa office. When asked by journalists whether action would be taken against the leaders after decisions at the convention, Khadka responded, “We hope the talks conclude in consensus as much as possible. Some preparations are in place in Sanepa. If they leave the party, normally expulsion follows.”
