KATHMANDU: The taxpayer incentive prize for Bhadra, which was postponed following the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa, will be announced on Ashwin 1.
Director General of the Inland Revenue Department Dr Bhishma Kumar Bhusal said the prize for Bhadra will be announced on Ashwin 1. The incentive program was introduced through the budget for the new fiscal year to encourage taxpayers to collect bills and become accustomed to the tax payment system.
The incentive program, which began on Shrawan 1, had scheduled the prize announcement for Bhadra 16. However, it was postponed after the Bhotekoshi flood triggered a disaster in the country.
Director General Bhusal said that in the first phase, 15 consumers who registered their bills and invoices on the department’s portal or purchased goods online between Bhadra 1 and 15 will be selected as daily winners. Each winner will receive Rs 133,334.
Among consumers who conducted transactions between Bhadra 1 and 15, one person will also be selected for the Rs 1 million taxpayer bumper incentive prize.
In the second phase, 16 winners will be selected for transactions made during the 16-day period from Bhadra 16 to 31, with each receiving Rs 133,334. One consumer from this period will also be selected for the Rs 1 million bumper prize.
The department said a total of 33 winners will be awarded on Ashwin 1, comprising 31 winners receiving Rs 133,334 each and two bumper prize winners receiving Rs 1 million each.
