33 arrested with drugs



KATHMANDU: Police on routine patrol arrested 33 people in possession of drugs from different parts of the country.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, eight people were arrested in Kathmandu, six in Lalitpur, four in Jumla, three in Surkhet, and two each in Morang, Sindhupalchowk, Tanahun, Rupandehi and Banke. One person each was arrested in Siraha and Kailali.

Police seized narcotic substances, including brown heroin and marijuana, as well as prescription drugs such as diazepam, phenergan, buprenorphine, promethazine, spasmoly and tramadol from those arrested.

Further investigation is underway.
