KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel has declared total assets worth Rs 241.6 million, according to details made public on Sunday.
The disclosure released by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers shows that the minister owns a three-and-a-half-storey house in Kathmandu valued at around Rs 40 million.
She also owns land in areas including Kathmandu and Morang District, while additional family-owned properties include land in Godawari and Gokarneshwar.
The asset details also include gold and silver holdings, bank deposits and investments in company shares worth around Rs 17.7 million under family ownership.
According to the statement, the minister holds around 25 tolas of gold and 100 tolas of silver, along with bank savings of Rs 448,000 in two banks.
The report also mentions that the family owns an electric vehicle worth around Rs 7 million and another car worth approximately Rs 4 million.
It further states that the minister has declared liabilities of around Rs 7.5 million in loans.
