KATHMANDU: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam has declared over Rs 1.05 million in bank deposits along with loans, vehicles, and precious metals, according to asset details made public by the government.
As per the disclosure, Gautam holds Rs 1,050,335 in her bank accounts. The statement also shows that she has taken loans from multiple financial institutions.
She borrowed Rs 2 million from Rastriya Banijya Bank for vehicle purchase, of which Rs 700,000 has already been repaid. Additionally, she has taken a Rs 2.5 million loan from Everest Bank.
In terms of valuables, Gautam has declared ownership of 15 tola of gold, 9 tola of silver, and 1 tola of diamond.
Regarding vehicles, she purchased a car (Ba 01-029 Cha 4336) through a loan of Rs 2.6 million from Rastriya Banijya Bank.
The disclosure also includes assets under her husband Grihendra Ghimire, who has taken a Rs 9.5 million loan from Everest Bank to purchase another vehicle (Ba 3 Cha 6722). The purchase was financed through a combination of loan, salary income, and exchange of an old vehicle.
The asset disclosure is part of the government’s requirement for ministers to publicly declare their property details.
