Home Minister directs security agencies to act firmly against drug-related crimes



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudan Gurung has directed security agencies to take strict action to control drug-related and other criminal activities.

During a meeting with district security chiefs at the Nepal Police Academy in Bharatpur on Sunday, Gurung instructed officials to work firmly to maintain good governance and curb drug-related incidents in line with public expectations.

According to Govinda Puri, the minister also urged security agencies to provide prompt and efficient services that people can directly experience.

Gurung also inspected various locations in the district. On Saturday night, he visited landslide-prone areas such as Narayangadh–Muglin Road Section, including Ghoptebhir and Tuin Khola, and instructed officials to expedite work to prevent similar problems during the monsoon season.

The home minister has also left for Daunne Road Section under the East–West Highway to conduct further inspections.
