Rain and snowfall likely in some areas today

KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing partial influence from local winds along with a weak western low-pressure system, according to the Weather Forecast Division.

Due to this system, weather conditions have become partly cloudy in various regions. The hilly and mountainous areas are seeing partial cloud cover, while the Terai region remains mostly clear.

The Division stated that the Himalayan region will remain generally cloudy, the hilly areas partly cloudy, and the plains mostly clear. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province, as well as in the Himalayan areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the Himalayan region and mostly cloudy in the hilly and Terai regions. There is also a chance of light rain or snowfall, along with thunder and lightning, at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has urged the general public and transport operators to remain cautious in areas where rainfall and snowfall are likely.
