Gen-Z campaigner Majid Ansari detained while visiting flood-affected families in Kirtipur



KATHMANDU: Police detained Gen-Z campaigner Majid Ansari and members of his team while they were visiting the Kirtipur Holding Centre, where families displaced by recent flooding have been taking shelter.

According to reports, Ansari and his team had gone to the holding centre to assess the condition of the flood-affected families when they were taken into police custody.

Videos from the scene showed police escorting Ansari into a police vehicle during the detention.

The Nepal Gen-Z Movement Alliance has objected to the incident, expressing concern over the detention of Ansari and his team.

Police have yet to issue an official statement explaining the reason for the detention.
