KATHMANDU: Ashwin Raut, who had attempted self-immolation in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, has died while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.
The 45-year-old had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit after sustaining severe burn injuries in the incident.
Hospital sources said Raut died during the course of treatment on Saturday.
He had suffered burns to more than 50 percent of his body, according to officials.
