KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has automatically revoked the licenses of 44 construction firms and companies after they failed to renew their construction business permits within the stipulated deadline.
According to a notice issued by the ministry’s Construction Business Promotion Section, construction entrepreneurs were required to renew their licenses for the fiscal year 2025/26 by the end of April, as mandated under Section 5(3) of the Construction Business Act, 1999.
The ministry stated that the licenses of the 44 firms were automatically cancelled under Section 7(3) of the Act after they failed to complete the renewal process within the prescribed period.
The decision to publish the notice was made at the secretary level on July 1, in accordance with Section 7(4) of the Act, the ministry said.
The ministry has informed the concerned firms through the official notice regarding the automatic cancellation of their construction business licenses.
