NRB fixes foreign currency exchange rates for today



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the foreign exchange rates for Thursday.

According to the central bank, the value of most foreign currencies—except the US dollar, euro, British pound, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti dinar and Bahraini dinar—has declined. A similar trend was observed on the previous day as well.

The buying rate of one US dollar has been set at Rs. 152.13, while the selling rate stands at Rs. 152.73. On Wednesday, the buying rate was Rs. 152.27 and the selling rate was Rs. 152.87. Earlier, the US dollar had reached as high as Rs. 154.62 (buying) and Rs. 155.22 (selling), marking its highest level so far.

Similarly, the buying rate of one euro today is Rs. 175.61 and the selling rate is Rs. 176.30, compared to Rs. 176.21 and Rs. 176.91 respectively on Wednesday.

The British pound sterling is being traded at Rs. 203.62 (buying) and Rs. 204.42 (selling), down from Rs. 204.05 and Rs. 204.85 the previous day.

The Australian dollar has also declined, with the buying rate fixed at Rs. 106.55 and the selling rate at Rs. 106.97, compared to Rs. 107.47 and Rs. 107.90 earlier. The currency has been steadily weakening over the past few days.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti dinar is set at Rs. 495.13 (buying) and Rs. 497.09 (selling), slightly lower than Wednesday’s Rs. 495.54 and Rs. 497.54. The Bahraini dinar stands at Rs. 403.45 (buying) and Rs. 405.04 (selling), down from Rs. 403.82 and Rs. 405.41.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision at any time as needed.

It also noted that commercial banks may set slightly different rates, and updated exchange rates are available on the central bank’s official website.
