Country to remain generally cloudy today

KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently under the influence of a westerly trough and local winds in the upper atmosphere. Due to this system, light rainfall was recorded in most parts of the country on Wednesday.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, weather conditions will remain generally cloudy across the country today.

The Department has also forecast the possibility of moderate to heavy rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Similar conditions may occur in the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Madhes Province.

In addition, light to moderate rainfall is likely in a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while isolated rainfall may also occur in one or two places in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, the Department added.
