KATHMANDU: The government has announced that the revenue system will be made more entrepreneur-friendly.
Presenting the policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year, Ram Chandra Poudel stated that the revenue system would be reformed to support entrepreneurs.
The policy document states that the tax structure will be restructured to reduce the burden on entrepreneurs. The government also plans to sign double taxation avoidance agreements with various countries.
It further mentions that regulatory authorities overseeing cooperatives will be strengthened to make regulation more effective, and efforts will be made to recover cooperative loans and return depositors’ savings.
Likewise, the government has announced plans to restructure the Nepal Stock Exchange and the securities market, while expanding the participation of non-resident Nepalis. The policy and programme also prioritizes the development of the loan market and bond market to strengthen long-term capital formation.
