Sharma & Company chair arrested over alleged abandonment of government contracts



KATHMANDU: Ramesh Sharma, chair of the well-known construction company Sharma & Company, has been arrested on charges of abandoning government contract projects.

He was taken into custody on Monday by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

According to officials, Sharma was detained following correspondence from the Ministry of Urban Development.

Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Khadka, chief of the Crime Investigation Office, said Sharma has been handed over to the Ministry of Urban Development for further proceedings.
