TIA disrupted after Turkish Airlines aircraft tire bursts during landing



KATHMANDU: Operations at Tribhuvan International Airport were disrupted after a tire of a Turkish Airlines aircraft burst and caught fire during landing on a flight arriving from Istanbul on Monday.

According to airport sources, the incident temporarily halted flight operations at the airport.

Following the disruption, an Air Arabia aircraft was forced to circle in the sky nine times before further instructions were issued. Likewise, flights operated by Fly Dubai, Air India, Qatar Airways and Nepal Airlines were also made to hold in the air due to the runway disruption.

Further details about the condition of the aircraft and the duration of the disruption are yet to be confirmed.
