KATHMANDU: The CPN (United) has demanded the formation of a new investigation panel, calling the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led commission incomplete and biased.
In a statement issued by acting chair Ghanshyam Bhusal, the party said a powerful probe commission led by a sitting judge should be formed to investigate the incidents that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24.
The party said its recent meeting of the National Conference Organising Committee endorsed 11 contemporary proposals. It also called for the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the assets of high-ranking officials and political leaders since 2048 BS.
The party urged the government to address the energy crisis triggered by tensions in the Middle East and to control rising prices in the market.
The statement also criticised ongoing attacks in Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen, describing the actions of the United States and Israel as imperialist and calling for an immediate halt.
It further condemned an alleged abduction attempt involving Nicolás Maduro and demanded their unconditional release.
The party also urged the government to introduce plans to electrify Nepali kitchens to build a self-reliant economy, promote employment and address the energy crisis. It called for scrapping unequal treaties and developing an economic system aligned with a multipolar world order.
