Department inspects 56 businesses in ongoing market drive



KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has inspected 56 firms in a single day as part of its ongoing market monitoring drive.

According to the Department, necessary instructions and actions were taken in line with the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS and the Consumer Protection Regulations, 2076 BS.

The inspections were carried out across various businesses within Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The Department said a significant number of firms were monitored and provided with corrective instructions.

The Department has been conducting regular inspections focusing on issues such as market price control, prevention of the sale and distribution of substandard goods, and ensuring proper labeling, including the Maximum Retail Price (MRP).

It stated that 51 firms were inspected on Thursday, followed by 56 firms on Friday as part of the continued campaign.
