Sharma: Public dissatisfaction central to special general convention

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has stated that the party will analyze and discuss the layers of public dissatisfaction during the special general convention.

Addressing the opening session of the convention called by the faction supporting the special general convention, Sharma committed to systematically collecting, identifying, and reviewing the complaints, grievances, and expectations of ordinary citizens. He emphasized that the Congress takes public dissatisfaction seriously.

Sharma said, “Before voting for the tree symbol on the upcoming March 5, we will record and identify citizens’ complaints and, with a resolve not to repeat past mistakes, move forward through this special general convention.”

He noted that in the past 34 years, although 30 governments have been formed, citizens’ needs and satisfaction have often remained unmet. While government changes may have satisfied those in power, ordinary citizens did not feel the impact, Sharma added.

He further stressed that the special general convention is not just an organizational exercise but a platform for a deep review and self-assessment of public dissatisfaction.
