Acharya said the registration fee has been fixed at Rs 1,000. Registration and distribution of delegate cards to those present at the venue are currently ongoing. The convention is scheduled to be inaugurated at 12 noon. Earlier, the party announced that processions would be taken out from six different locations across the Kathmandu Valley.

The special general convention will be inaugurated under the chairmanship of Kathmandu District President Sabuj Baniya. Following the inauguration, a closed session will begin today under the chairmanship of the party’s senior-most member.

The special general convention has been called by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma after 54 percent of the party’s general convention delegates signed a demand in line with Article 17(2) of the party statute.
