KATHMANDU: Nepal has reached the final of the ongoing ACC Premier Cup in Malaysia after defeating Oman by 87 runs in the semi-final.
Batting first, Nepal posted 147 runs, with Dipendra Singh Airee top-scoring with 51 runs and Bashir Ahmad contributing 47.
Oman struggled against Nepal’s spin attack and were bowled out for 60 runs in 28.1 overs. Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee took three wickets each for Nepal, while Rohit Paudel and Lalit Rajbanshi claimed two wickets apiece.
With the victory, Nepal have also secured qualification for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. Nepal will face the UAE in the final on Saturday. A victory in the final will also secure Nepal’s qualification for the Asia Cup.
